North West UFO Research
March 2009 update
The Barrow UFO of 9th March 2009
Cumbrian UFO sightings continue
58 year old Julie Hammerton, Artistic Director of Barracudas Carnival (Arts
organisation and a charity working with people on creative activities) and her
friend were in Collingwood Street, Barrow, Cumbria at approx 8.15 on Tuesday
evening 10th March 2009.
It was a very clear evening and they both saw what Julie described as an
“Orbiting
red/orange object.”
The UFO was, we are told, travelling from the northwest to the east.
Julie told Pat Regan of North West UFO Research that it
“seemed to be on
fire”, and
“was travelling very fast” and the friends
didn’t have time to catch it on camera.
She explained:
“It was travelling
so fast across the sky and I say orbiting because it was on a very straight path
and seem to be at a constant height. Also my friend who was with me said he saw
it at about the same time on another night. He said he thought it was at the
height of a plane and a few feet across but I thought it was higher and bigger.
We watched it about for about half a minute. People say it must have been a
meteor, because it looked like it was flaming but it wasn't falling. It wasn't a
Chinese Lantern.”
Julie added:
“I am waiting for
another clear night to see if I can film it. My immediate thought was that it
was a part of the one of the
satellites that collided recently.”
Did anyone else see this mysterious object?
