An alternative view of the UFO situation
North West UFO Research approached Mr Chris Bray, who runs the Sorcerer’s Apprentice Bookshop in Leeds.
This is his view on the UFO phenomena:
“There's no way any self-respecting alien who can travel at light-speed to visit us would be dim enough to do so. Crap from Radio and TV has been emanating from this planet for over 60 years now and will have reached the farthest corners of the universe - they have no need to visit us to find out what humans are like and to any superior alien intellect we have no redeeming factors whatsoever and concomitantly have nothing to offer them so the idea that we are being 'studied' scientifically, as we study rats, has no scientific rigour. “
“The old idea that aliens are leaving a dying world and want to colonise the earth is another form of intellectual masturbation by humans. There must be other planets in the universe at a former stage of earth's evolution for them to colonise before self-destructive mammals like man have appeared on the surface of it which would be a much easier task. The problem is that people get bound up with romantic notions about UFOs. It's a UFO they say; but that just means it is a flying object which has not been identified, not that it is an ALIEN flying object.”
Chris continues and mentions the military possibilities, which others such as ex-MOD, Nick Pope, have also highlighted before.
“The military are testing flying weapons all the time - particularly remote fighter Drones, which is, apparently, the way forward for armies in the future (no infantry required and no loss of manpower or bad PR at home about body bags when one invades). There are many other reasons for celestial phenomena, meteorites, atmospheric anomalies, reflections, etc. The reason why UFOs come in rashes is because the incidence of sightings closely parallels social stress in the civilisations which spot them. Jung did some great work in the early 20th century on this phenomenon. Flying Saucers, A Modern Myth of Things Seen in the Skies, (Carl Gustav Jung.)"
In earlier ages other celestial phenomena took the place of UFOs, in particular flaming chariots and angels appeared. Now that those things are infra-dig and we are all arrogant scientific materialists the masses see UFO's instead and there is a definite association with the doom and gloom projected by the media about the economic situation today and the rise in the incidences of reported UFOs.”
Psychologically UFOism is a religion of the subconscious where people unconsciously seek outside themselves for 'divine' help from superior beings. I am not suggesting that there isn't alien life out there - there probably is. Neither am I saying that ALL UFO sightings are false, intentionally or otherwise. What I am saying is that 99% of it is a form of Yesodic junketing.”
We thank Mr Bray for his fascinating comments.
His mention of "99%" is also quite interesting as North West UFO Research clearly states that 99% of UFO sightings can be rationally explained –
It’s the other 1% that we are interested in.
