Cumbrian UFO mystery continues
North West UFO Research (NWUR) has collated a small number of public opinions and accounts written regarding what witnesses claim to have seen, with concern toward UFOs in the Cumbrian region
Orange lights - still a mystery
Many have been seen as mysterious orange, yellow or red light and some allegations have been made that these could simply be Chinese lanterns, yet the accounts at times suggest something else.
The following have been alleged:
Orange lights that have travelled at the same speed.
Lights that were in set configuration with the first object fading and then shooting off upwards with the rest of the formation moving on.
Orange lights that have travelled faster than a normal aeroplane.
Orange lights that have made no sound.
Orange lights that have been in formation then split up and change direction.
That UFOs may have been drones/spy planes on test from B.A. Systems in the Barrow in Furness region.
Stationary silver objects estimated to be some 20 - 20 feet in diameter.
Much brighter than a satellite and a lot bigger.
Red light formations that travel at speed early in the morning.
Incidentally, popular cynical claims that all orange light are just Chinese lanterns were recently largely disproved.
The UFO Hunters TV team from the States undertook a fascinating test further south.

One female witness (Amanda Berry) featured on the show, who had observed something strange in the Cardiff night’s sky in June 2008, joined the team. They purposely released lanterns and the witness stated clearly that these were’ not’ the same thing she had seen being pursued by a police helicopter. The wind direction of that particular evening proved the any such fire lanterns released some miles further away could not have drifted into the same air space.
Numerous so-called UFO sightings may indeed be mere fire lanterns, but not all fit this profile.
What are we paying the MoD for?
NWUR Founder, Pat Regan, said:
"Surely the Ministry of Defence should be professionally investigating these numerous Cumbrian sightings, rather than trolling out the usual 'Don't bother us' type of indifferent attitude that NWUR received last year, following the Red Arrows UFO incident at Southport?"
Unidentified object that was photographed very close to a Red Arrows plane last summer.
MoD - indifferent to unknown flying entities the may be threatening sovereign air space?

Defence of our air space is what we are 'supposed' to be paying the MoD for in the first place!
UFO expert Nick Pope has recently
revealed that RAF pilots have tried to shoot down unidentified aircraft
Mr Pope said:
"The military have
scrambled jets, intercepted UFOs and tried to bring them down"
The RAF are instructed to down any suspect aircraft which fails to identify
itself in UK airspace as a last resort, although the exact rules of engagement
are a military secret.

NWUR has recently written to the MoD pressing for more investigations into these potential air safety issues.
NB: NWUR have just received more data concerning a new Cumbrian UFO sighting. More on this one soon!
