North West UFO Research
April 2009, update
----------------------
Did Cumbrian UFOs warn of impending Lake District Earthquake?
Was recent UFO activity connected with the
Cumbrian earthquake?
Are UFO’s harbingers of disaster?
North West UFO Research (NWUR) was inundated with reports from the Cumbria
regain since 2009 started. We reported on the situation with various
well-recorded witness statements and a few photos to give evidence of such
unusual events. All this was most extraordinary because not long ago some
researchers had claimed that UFO sightings in the region had virtually dried up.
NWUR Founder Pat Regan, seen here on YouTube, speaking about the UFO/Earthquake axis
On Tuesday 28th April a 3.7 magnitude earth tremor hit Cumbria, which was
centred on Ulverston. The reports starting coming in soon after 11.00am. TV
reports also stated that the earthquake was felt in Lancaster, Fleetwood and
other areas within Lancashire.
The British Geological Survey established that the quake hit three miles
south-east of Ulverston and five miles underground at 11.22am.
Were we warned about this earthquake?
North West UFO Research Founder and author of Dirty Politics, Pat Regan, stated:
“I was initially alerted to this situation by Coast Guard Officer, Mr Paul
Harrison. On thing that instantly sprung to my mind was a possible connection
between the earthquake and the large spate of UFO sightings that we have recently
dealt with. Did the strange balls of light, seen by numerous witnesses, have any
possible link to the tremor? Many people have been asking me what the balls of
light seen in Cumbrian could be and NWUR have reported on this in great detail.”
Pat continued:
“There have indeed
been examples around the world when similarly abnormal lights in the sky have
been seen before or during earthquakes. One theory posed by experts is that such
phenomena occur when rock structures under great stress release gas. At such
times electromagnetic waves with radioactive gasses escape and ionize the air,
which in turn create odd lights. Another speculation is that the UFOs seen
before earthquakes are entities of an extraterrestrial nature or from the
spiritual realm, which have arrived to either monitor the worsening geological
situation or possibly warn us of the impending danger to come. The truth of the
matter is that we currently do not know precisely what is happening. I must in
all fairness however add one thing. The witnesses I have spoken to have at times
been clearly shaken by their experiences. Some have been convinced that the
balls of light they have seen have been guided as if under 'intelligent'
control. I still feel that the old WW11 Foo-fighters (strange balls of light
that pursued aircraft and scared many fighter pilots) accounts sound very
similar to what Cumbrian people have reported seeing this year.”
Such claims may not be as fanciful as they appear to some more sceptical minds.
Many people from the Tsunami and earthquake hit areas reported
witnessing weird Unidentified Flying Objects a few days before the mega quake and
Tsunami.
People in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, Andaman and Nicobar Island as well as many in Indonesia were reporting for some time about extraordinary flying objects spotted in the sky. This is extremely similar to the reports NWUR have recorded from Cumbria.
Moreover, some UFO researchers at that time were speculating about the possibility that these UFOs were trying to communicate a warning of the forthcoming Tsunami disaster. Was this the case for Cumbria too?
UFOs do in fact seem to hover around the epicentre of catastrophes. Do they sense these coming natural disasters? Some believe that they try and communicate with humanity to warn. Some even suppose that these UFOs replicate natural disasters in the earth.
Perhaps the MoD could expand of this axis. However, we feel that, judging by
their previous lethargy over the UFO situation, they will probably not be
overtly concerned to properly investigate any feasible link between Cumbria’s
many UFO sighting, which we have reported on, and the recent tremor.
NWUR suggest that immediate geological studies are undertaken in the Cumbrian
region, if not already underway, by the authorities. We also request that the UK
media take up the banner and help us to establish the causes behind this axis.

Addendum:
Mr Dave Pavoni, UFO Hunters TV show producer from the States has just contacted Pat Regan and mentioned the phenomena of “Earthquake Lights.”
An earthquake light is an extraordinary luminous airborne phenomenon, comparable in appearance to the aurora borealis that supposedly appears in the sky at or near areas of tectonic stress, seismic activity or volcanic eruptions. There may be some relevance to Dave’s suggestion, yet not all Cumbrian sightings would seem to match this category of phenomena. Earthquake lights have been seen weeks before or after earthquakes and hundreds of miles from the epicenter.
