Orange lights over Cumbria
The following report has been forwarded to NWUR by Mr Paul Harrison, an Ainsdale coast guard officer.
Apparently Paul received this account from a colleague in Cumbria.
Subject: Lights off Ravenglass
7.00 PM Saturday 24th January 2009
Numerous reports of orange lights reported to be seen off shore from Ravenglass, Cumbria. Persons described seeing orange lights, akin to street lights in the sky. A male who has extensive knowledge of the area, stated that it was not flares; he stated that there was no noise. There were two lights together then one veered off to the north, he kept watching this light which then dipped down to sea level then up again before heading off at speed to the north. There were no further lights, e.g., navigational lights, as the lights could not be ascertained to a source this was left as unknown lights.
