Southport town centre resident spotted UFO
Joan Mackenzie responded to a NWUR appeal in the Southport Visiter regarding UFO sightings.
Joan told NWUR Founder Pat Regan:
“I don't know if what I saw last year was a UFO; I can't be specific about date, time etc but I would still like to tell you about it. I live on the 5th floor of an apartment block in the centre of Southport & have a good view out into the sky. I see many planes, helicopters but was intrigued last year by something I hadn't seen before,” stated Joan.
She continued:
“The sighting occurred around July/August 2008 sometime between midnight - 4am. I looked out of the window & saw 3 circular red lights, one at the front, two to the rear, forming a triangle shape & they were just "there", not moving. I continued to look at them because I hadn't seen planes or helicopters look like that before and as I observed them the 2 rear lights appeared to glide up to & merge with the light at the front and then that just faded from view - I was fascinated. Over the next day, week or so, I told a few people about what I'd seen but, you know, people look at you sometimes & you can almost hear them wondering if you have a screw loose! “
Joan told Pat that she never spoke about it again, until she contacted NWUR, but it's remained in her memory. She still makes a point of looking out over the night sky, just in case she sees anything else unusual. Many UFO witnesses express the very same new found enthusiasm and continue to look to the heavens for more.
