The global financial crisis has led to a serious drop in demand from China for unprocessed materials. Although some materials are beginning to recover their worth, waste paper remains in an extremely disturbing predicament. Countless paper mills shut down in Britain last year, due to their incapacity to handle stiff opposition from high-tech mills in the East. Prior to the market crisis, more than half of over ten million tons of recyclable domestic waste produced each year was sold to China. The Chinese apparently use this for building homes, vehicles and electrical products.

Late in 2008 the UK Environment Agency reported a rush of councils applying for additional legroom to store their excess recycled waste. Places are now being sought for such large scale waste storage.

According to press reports, America now faces a comparable dilemma to the UK and has identified hangars and derelict railway depots to take its growing mountains of loss-making waste.

The Seattle Times reported that the price for recycled newspaper in the Northwest fell from $120 a ton to $50 a ton in the last month and the price for plastic bottles has dived from more than 15 cents per pound to 6 cents per pound.

How much are the public NOT being told?

Much of the international recycling and waste collection axis is based on unsound theories churned out by the Church of Climate Alarmism over alleged environmental changes in the atmosphere.

The latest eco-bandwagon jumper to utilize this incredibly well-versed hoax is Al Gore, the US ex-Vice-President. His crusade and it is a crusade too - as it is all based on blind faith alone is now to convince the world of the dangers of climate change caused allegedly by man’s carbon emissions. ‘An Inconvenient Truth’ is an American documentary film about global warming, presented by Al Gore and directed by Davis Guggenheim. The movie premiered at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and opened in New York and Los Angeles on May 24^th 2006.

Coleman (who is strongly featured in Dirty Politics) accused the worldwide media of colluding with 'environmental extremists' to frighten the public.

Is it just a case of experts disagreeing about the recycling situation or does the man of the street have a say?

Apparently not all stateside residents are fooled by the spin. In Dirty Politics, Dave Pavoni, An LA-based producer with Motion Picture Production, Inc, said about the UK’s crazy two-week collection scheme:

“Wow – two weeks? We get it removed every week and that seems to be pretty standard – we have 3 individual bins for:

Recyclable materials

Waste – trash

Grass and landscaping materials

There is also Weekly Street cleaning as well”

Dave added:

“My main issue with the waste hanging around is the health concerns, kids hanging around near the bins etc. Two weeks in the summer is rough!”

Dave’s valid apprehension for the UK situation is well-founded as recent pest control studies show that rat population figures are increasing since the 2-week collections were instigated by the UK’s government.
