The Whitehaven Rugby Club - multiple ORBLs (Orange Balls of Lights) sighting

Date of sighting: 4th April, 2009

Time:  about 20:45pm

Trevor Palmer, who runs a mobile disco, was holding a Charity Race Night event at the Whitehaven Rugby League Sponsors Club. Trevor and one of the people at the event went outside at 20:45.

As Trevor was talking to this gentleman he looked up over his shoulder and pointed to an orange globe (ORBL) moving at speed in the sky.

Trevor explained to NWUR Founder, Pat Regan, that initially they lost sight of this globe due to the Kells End Grand Stand. However, as the witnesses moved around the corner they discovered that there were in fact 5 globes in a perfect W-shaped formation, with 2 orbs on the bottom and 3 on the top which were moving in the same direction.

Trevor added:

“We observed them for what seemed a couple of minutes heading towards the  Whitehaven Hospital area before they seemed to just go out then reappeared and then go out again for good.  It was a very clear night on Saturday with very little wind, the globes were not high enough to be aircraft (maybe only 400 - 500 feet in the air) and there was no noise whatsoever coming from them, they were moving from a north west to south east direction before we lost sight of them.”

Trevor informed Pat Regan that he had also reported this UFO sighting to the Whitehaven News.

Did you see this or anything similar?

Sceptical claims that such a sighting may be merely Chinese lanterns could be fraught with difficulty within this particular sighting. Trevor explained that the orbs moved at “speed”, yet on that night there was very little wind. This may possibly indicate that the objects sighted were not lanterns.
